Fishing Opportunities
This area is home to some of Southeast Tennessee’s best fishing. Fly fishing for trout, spin fishing for smallmouth bass or just sitting on the bank and fishing with bait, the area offers fishing for all anglers. The Hiwassee River is an excellent destination for the avid fisherman. Weather you are a novice or an experienced angler, this river will provide you with opportunities to catch fish and challenge your abilities. Wade fishing is very popular on the Hiwassee. When the generators are off it is a wade fisherman’s paradise, with miles of river that can be accessed on foot. If the generators are running there are still places that can be waded safely, but you are limited as to where you can go. Drift boat fishing is very popular here; there is no better way to enjoy a day fishing on the river. Our guides are available for fly fishing and casting instruction and fly tying demonstrations. Throughout the year we sponsor several events that highlight fishing in the area including: Kids Fishing Day, FREE Fishing Day for all, fishing tournaments, Tiers and Liars and Fishing Group weekend campouts.
